What is the best course for me to become a well-paid, successful hairdresser?

You can take a hairdressing course full-time or part-time from home, at a college, or study as a trainee, learning on the job and attending college on a day-release. Whichever option you choose, the following qualifications are available for you to study:

NVQ levels 1, 2 and 3 in Hairdressing
NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Barbering.

NVQ Level 1 course covers all the introductory skills you would need to learn as an assistant hairdresser. NVQ Level 2 adds the essential skills you would need to study to become a hairdresser. NVQ Level 3 teaches you the skills needed for more senior roles.

Home hairdressing courses are usually marked by your course provider. In the case of Open Study College everyone studying the course is supplied with envelopes in order to return your completed work to them. When they receive your coursework they will mark it and then return it to you. On completion of the course you will be awarded their diploma showing your accomplishment in the subject of hairdressing.
